The long-anticipated Battle of Britain matchup appears to be inching closer to reality.
While Joshua is regarded as the leading contender to face the winner of Fury’s upcoming bout against Usyk, he has other hurdles to clear.

Negotiations between the two camps have encountered setbacks in the past, resulting in the cancellation of a previously agreed-upon fight, which led Fury to face Wilder in a trilogy showdown.
Usyk’s surprising triumphs over Joshua have further intensified the heavyweight division’s intrigue.
Hearn outlined Joshua’s upcoming fights, highlighting his scheduled encounters with Whyte on August 12 and Wilder in Saudi Arabia. Only after these bouts will the highly anticipated Joshua-Fury showdown take place.
Hearn criticized Fury for snubbing the Usyk fight in favor of an MMA opponent, insinuating that monetary gain is Fury’s primary motivation.
In order for Fury to solidify his legacy as a true boxing great, Hearn emphasized the importance of his victories over both Usyk and Joshua, with particular emphasis on the former.
The stage is set for a thrilling series of matches in the heavyweight division, with fans eagerly awaiting the outcome of Fury’s clash with Usyk and the subsequent potential clash between Joshua and Fury.
