OGUN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Veteran Fuji singer, Kollington Ayinla, has debunked rumours of his death.
Rumours earlier circulated on social media that Ayinla was battling an undisclosed illness and was in critical condition.
Some also claimed that he had passed away at a Lagos hospital.
However, in a now-viral video, the 75-year-old musician addressed the matter, stating that he is alive.
Kollington expressed his appreciation to the medical personnel at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in Ikeja for their “excellent” care, as well as his gratitude to Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos governor, for his support.

Speaking from his hospital bed in the clip, the ace singer said without the medical care of the doctors at LASUTH, he probably would be dead by now.
“I want to thank Lagosians. I want to thank the government of Lagos State Government and the management of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital and the team under the leadership of Adetokunbo O. Fabanwo,” he said.
“It is only God that can save life but I want to appreciate him and the team because I would have gone to the great beyond.
“I give it to the LASUTH. They are king for taking care of me. They deserve my salutations. LASUTH LASUTH LASUTH, you are king. They said I was dead, but I am here speaking alive from the LASUTH now.”
