LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Popular singer and entrepreneur Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, has revealed how legendary Nigerian artist, 2baba and Jamaican dancehall sensation Beenie Man have been influential in his career.
Mr Eazi revealed that his catchphrase “Zagadat” was influenced by the lyrics of 2Face’s ‘Nfana Ibaga’ remix, featuring Beenie Man.
During the interview with Capital Xtra, UK, Mr Eazi explained that he did not expect any copyright issues with the slang as he did not use it in the same manner as it was originally presented in the song.

He expressed his gratitude to Beenie Man and 2Face, saying, “Big shout out to Beenie Man. Beenie Man and 2Face. I got my catchphrase ‘Zagadat’ from their song ‘Nfana Ibaga’ remix. From the part, ‘And the Lord say let there be light. Zagazaga za.’ That’s where it’s from, bro.”
“I don’t have to give them royalties because I said, ‘Zagadat.’ I didn’t say, Zagagaza za.”
