LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Pepe, the veteran Porto defender and former Real Madrid icon, created history by becoming the first player over the age of 40 to score a Champions League goal in a match against Antwerp.
The 40-year-old Pepe, who began his professional career 22 years ago in 2001, netted the second goal in Porto’s 2-0 victory during the 91st minute of the game.
Despite his age, Pepe remains a crucial part of the Porto squad, with seven appearances in all competitions.

He boasts an impressive track record, having won the Champions League three times with Real Madrid.
Pepe is currently in his second stint with Porto, previously playing for the club from 2004 to 2007 before returning in 2019, amassing a total of 261 appearances.
Porto is set to face Vitoria SC in their upcoming Portuguese league match.
