LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro has confirmed that Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho will be absent from Nigeria’s second friendly game against Mozambique, scheduled to take place at the Estadio Municipal de Portimão on October 16.
Both players won’t participate in the match due to different reasons.
Osimhen sustained an injury during the Super Eagles’ 2-2 draw against Saudi Arabia and has returned to Italy for further assessments.

On the other hand, Kelechi Iheanacho, who scored a goal as a second-half substitute in the match against the Green Falcons, has left the Eagles camp to attend to a personal matter.
Coach Peseiro expressed the team’s understanding of the absences, saying, “We will miss Kelechi and Victor, but we have other good players who can make Nigeria proud.
“I look at the bench and see players who can step up and take their chances.”
The Super Eagles will rely on their depth to fill in for the missing players and aim for a positive result in their friendly against Mozambique.
