LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Napoli’s President, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has emphasized that Victor Osimhen’s contract situation is not under scrutiny, despite the recent TikTok video controversy that surrounded the player.
Over the summer, Napoli successfully retained key attackers Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia after winning the Scudetto, marking a long-awaited achievement.
However, rumors of a potential Premier League move for the Nigerian striker gained momentum after a social media controversy involving him.
Napoli’s official TikTok account posted a video seemingly mocking Osimhen for missing a penalty, accompanied by a high-pitched voiceover saying, “Gimme penalty please.“

In response, the player’s agent threatened legal action, and Osimhen removed all references to the club from his Instagram page.
Although he started Napoli’s 4-0 victory against Lecce on the bench, he issued a statement expressing his unwavering love for the club and his determination not to let anyone come between him and Napoli.
After Napoli’s 3-2 loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday, the club’s president dismissed concerns that the TikTok incident would impact their efforts to secure a new contract with their star striker.
“Victor is a player who makes a team on his own; it’s not up for discussion,” De Laurentiis told El Chiringuito. “There is no problem with the renewal; everyone at Napoli is happy.”
Napoli signed Osimhen from Lille in 2020, and he was Serie A’s top scorer last season. He has been linked with clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich.
