LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) The Gunners are contemplating a move for Brentford’s Ivan Toney in the upcoming January transfer window, but they’ll have to dig deep into their pockets with a potential price tag of £80 million ($97 million) for the striker.
However, signing Toney could also require Arsenal to offload players in order to adhere to Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.
While Arsenal is keen on acquiring Toney’s services, Chelsea is also keeping a watchful eye on the England international.
Toney, who has a ban in place until January 16 due to a breach of the FA’s betting rules, has a contract that expires at the end of the next season.

Brentford is not eager to part with Toney and has placed a hefty valuation on him.
Last season, he demonstrated his goal-scoring prowess by netting 20 league goals, trailing only Erling Haaland and Harry Kane.
To meet FFP regulations, Arsenal may need to sell some of their players by the end of June, potentially including Emile Smith Rowe, Eddie Nketiah, and Reiss Nelson, to generate the necessary funds.
Arsenal’s next fixture pits them against Brentford in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
