LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) –Nigeria’s Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) has unveiled the players representing the country in the upcoming 2024 ITTF African Cup and Olympics Qualification Tournament in Kigali, Rwanda, from May 12 to 18.
The Nigerian team will be led by Quadri Aruna, Offiong Edem, Olajide Omotayo, and Fatimo Bello.
The tournament mandates each participating country to field two male and two female players.
Notably, Egypt, reigning champions in both divisions, will have three representatives in each category, while Rwanda, as the host nation, will present four players per gender.

Among the notable participants are Egypt’s defending champions Omar Assar and Hana Goda, aiming to retain their titles in the singles events. Quadri Aruna, a finalist in the 2022 edition, seeks a strong comeback following an injury setback.
Ranked 19th globally, Aruna faces tough competition from Egyptian stalwarts Omar Assar, Mohamed El-Beiali, and Youssef Abdel-Aziz.
The tournament also serves as an Olympics qualification event, where Aruna eyes his fourth Olympic Games appearance.
Egypt, having secured their tickets at the 2023 African Championships, will not compete at this stage.
