LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Students of the University of Jos, Plateau State, have blocked the roads leading to the campus in protest following an increase in school fees by the institution.
The student protesters, who were mobilized by leaders of the Students Union Government (SUG) of the institution took to the road earlier today, calling for an urgent reversal of the hike in school fees and other services rendered by the University.

Several students, bearing placards with different inscriptions such as āIf your children can afford the money, we canātā and āWe donāt want to drop out of school,ā among others, took to the school premises to express their grievances.
According to the protesters, Nigerians are already going through a lot of hardship, hence the need for the school management not to complicate the already bad situation with further fee increments.
The increase in tuition fees at public universities across Nigeria, which comes in the wake of the eight-month-long strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) that ended early this year, has left many students facing the possibility of having to abandon their studies.
