ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has rewarded Super Falcons players with $10,000 each for their exploits at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Before bowing out on penalties against the Three Lionesses of England, the Super Falcons made it to the Round of 16 at the competition.
The nine-time African champions caught the eye with their impressive performance in the competition.
Nigeria’s First Lady hosted the players in Abuja this week and praised them for their “unbreakable spirit and unwavering strength”.

Defender Osinachi Ohale eulogized Mrs. Tinubu for her kind gesture.
“We are grateful for this unexpected gesture because for several years we’ve been winning the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (Wafcon) and I can’t remember us being honoured or rewarded this way,” the experienced centre-back, Ohale, told BBC Sport Africa.
“We appreciate the federal government for their support and encouragement. And we also thank Nigerians for the remarkable support during the tournament,” she added.
