LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Alexandra Magistratesā Court in Sourt Africa have ordered the remand of a 30-year-old legal practitioner, Thubelihle Sbonakaliso Mpisi, for murdering his girlfriend and burning her body inside a vehicle.
Rabalao was reported missing on 7 March, 2022, by her boyfriend. Her body was found in her Mercedes Benz on the same day engulfed in fire.
However, the Police took two days to link the burning car victim and Rabalao’s missing person case.
According to reports, the deceased’s colleagues said they were surprised when Rabalao did not work on 7 March and thought she had technical issues.

Mpisi was arraigned on 31 July, on allegations of killing Mahlako Malebo Rabalao, the mother of his child in March 2023.
Spokesperson of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) Phindi Mjonondwane, in a statement after the court hearing, said Mpisi was arrested in KwaZulu-Natal, on 28 July, following a warrant that was issued on 19 July, for his arrest.Ā
“The allegations emanate from a case that was investigated by the South African Police Service (SAPS), in relation to the discovery of the remains of 27-year-old Mahlako Malebo Rabalao, inside her burnt vehicle,ā the statement read.
āSAPS received a call about a burning car in Midrand, and on arrival, they found human remains on the front seat of the vehicle. The remains were later confirmed to be those of Rabalao.
āMpisi remains in custody and will be back in court on 7 August, for a possible bail hearing.ā
