ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Enugu State Police Command said it has arrested one suspect over alleged connection to the gruesome murder of a lawmaker, Nelson Sylvester Nnacheta.
The were arrested in the Nsukka axis of the State as disclosed on Monday by the command’s spokesman, DSP Daniel Ndukwe.
Ndukwe said the criminal gang killed Mr Nnacheta, a.k.a “Ofunwa”, on Sunday night.

“Nnacheta, who is identified as the councillor representing Eha-Ulo ward in Ehalumona community, was shot and gruesomely murdered on July 16, 2023, at about 11:30 p.m., at Umualoji village in Ehalumona community of Nsukka Local Government Area.
“Meanwhile, the state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr Ahmed Ammani, has ordered an intense discreet investigation and manhunt of the assailants,” the Police PRO said.
Ndukwe noted that further development would be communicated in due course.
