LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – AC Milan have reached an agreement to pay €17 million (£15 million/$19 million) for Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Despite the firing of sporting director Paolo Maldini, the Serie A club has continued to be interested in Loftus-Cheek. According to David Ornstein, a €17 million deal has finally been reached.
Sandro Tonali is anticipated to finalize a move to Newcastle United, thus the midfielder will increase Milan’s alternatives in that position.
Loftus-Cheek was valued at £25 million by Chelsea, but the Italian powerhouses were able to persuade the Blues to decrease their asking price because the midfielder was entering the final year of his contract.

The former Fulham loanee will team up with Fikayo Tomori, another ex-Blue who has developed into one of the most crucial players for the Serie A team over the past two seasons.
Chelsea will sell a number of players during the current summer transfer window in order to reduce their overly large roster.
They are presently negotiating with Arsenal and Manchester United for Kai Havertz and Mason Mount after already selling Kalidou Koulibaly to Al-Hilal.
Over the course of 33 games last season, Loftus-Cheek played for Chelsea in all competitions without scoring but with two assists.
He joined the Blues’ youth team back in 2004 and will now end nearly 20 years of service with them by going to Italy.
