ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Tajudeen Abbas has emerged Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives after polling most votes from the election.
The Member of the House of Representatives is representing Zaria federal constituency, Kaduna State.
The outgoing Majority Leader of the House, Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, reportedly nominated Abbas for Speaker and the motion was seconded by Nnolim Nnaji.
Abbas who is the choice candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), was elected by voice vote during the inauguration of the Assembly on Tuesday.
Godswill Akpabio was earlier elected president of the 10th Senate.
