ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has watched with grave concern the zoning of principal officers of the Senate and the House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation said allocating the position of the Deputy Speaker to the South-East is highly unreflective, disgusting and provocative to the Igbo.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has settled for Godswill Akpabio (South-South) and Barau Jibrin (North-West) for the Senate President and Deputy Senate President, respectively.
Also, the party endorsed Tajudeen Abbas (North-West) and Ben Kalu (South-East) for Speaker Deputy Speaker, respectively.
Ohanaeze expressed this through Chiedozie Alex Ogbonnia, National Publicity Secretary, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, on Friday in Enugu.
President Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, therefore, directs all the Igbo Lawmakers in the 10th National Assembly to vote according to their discretions irrespective of State, religion or ethnicity.
