LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Vinicius Jr. will have his red-card penalty lifted after being subjected to racial taunts by Valencia supporters on Sunday.
During extra time of the second half, the Madrid star got into a fight with Hugo Dora and was then dismissed.
He became enraged just before the incident when Valencia fans behind the goal racially taunted him.
The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has now acted after La Liga received harsh criticism for how it handled the matter over the past few days.
In addition, Valencia will have the south stand at the Mestalla Stadium closed for a stretch of five games although Vinicius won’t be suspended after being fired.
The club has also been fined €45,000 (£39,000/$48,000), despite their promise to permanently ban any fans seen abusing the footballer on the basis of race.

The match between Madrid and Rayo Vallecano in La Liga on Wednesday night should therefore feature Vinicius.
Carlo Ancelotti, the team’s manager, might decide to take him out of the game for the rubber, though.
Vinicius won’t be leaving Madrid, despite the numerous instances of racial abuse he has received in Spain, according to Ancelotti.
Madrid has no further games to play as Manchester City eliminated them from the Champions League, while Barcelona has already clinched the league title.
