Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx is said to be recovering after what his daughter describes as a “medical complication.”
The 55-year-old actor was treated with “great care” following the unspecified incident on Tuesday which left him hospitalized.
Corrine Foxx announced the news on Wednesday via Instagram, though she did not disclose what the acclaimed actor is recovering from.
“We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday, [April 11],” Corrine wrote in a post, Deadline reported.
“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.”
The message continued: “We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”
TMZ confirmed Foxx’s health scare was severe enough to land him in the hospital.
The actor who is known for his role in Django Unchanged, also produces Beat Shazam, with Corrine as part of as the game show’s DJ. The daddy-daughter duo also recently shot an Intel commercial.
Foxx is also filming Back in Action, an action-comedy he stars in alongside Glenn Close and Cameron Diaz. Though details about the movie are minimal, a source told People Diaz and Foxx “have great chemistry” on set.
Foxx was integral in getting Diaz back in front of the camera.
“When this project came along and she was pursued by Jamie Foxx, who she has known and worked with for years, she decided to go for it,” the source said.
According to Deadline, whether the dad-of-two wrapped filming prior to the health scare is unclear.
