ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Armed men suspected to be kidnappers have attacked the Christian Pentecostal Church in Akenawe -Tswarev community, Logo Local Government Area of Benue State.

It was gathered that one worshipper was killed, while the resident pastor and three others were whisked away during the attack.

The gunmen invaded the church and opened fire on worshippers when the resident pastor, identified as Gwadue Kwaghtyo, was leading a prayer.

Chairman of Logo LGA, Mrs. Salome Tor confirmed the ugly incident to journalists on Sunday, saying that the attack was carried out by the assailants during a vigil on Sunday morning.

According to him: “It was early this morning (still night hours). A church in one of the branches went for a vigil. As they were praying, they were surrounded by the armed men.

“They kidnapped three people, killed one boy and injured two people with a machete; they are now in the hospital.”
