LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) –A Nigerian, has taken to social media to take a stand against bullying by advocating for a female student at Lead British International School in Abuja, who allegedly fell victim to bullying by her classmates.
The X user, @moyeeeeeee shared a distressing SOS on Monday night, along with two videos as evidence, while appealing for widespread attention to ensure justice for the victim.
Expressing urgency, the post read, “There’s a video I’m about to post. I need you guys to help me get justice for Maryam Hassan. She was bullied in her school by her classmates at lead British school Abuja. Pls make it go viral so she can get justice”
The victim identified as Maryam Hassan was seen in one of the videos being slapped repeatedly by another female student while asking “Who broke my heart?”.
In another video, the victim could be seen seated beside a male classmate who audibly claimed, “I spoilt her relationship.”
As at the time of reporting, the post has garnered over 2,000 comments, with individuals expressing their dismay over the incident.
The disturbing footage has ignited outrage across social media platforms, as netizens called on the school authorities to investigate the matter.

An X user, @itsSh0la said, “Hopefully the family of the girl being buIIied doesn’t take it lightly. Hand needs to touch the girl, it’s not just few weeks suspension or cleaning the school compound for weeks, she needs to be touched too.”
Another user, @knownso1 said, “This is so sad to watch, don’t care what happened but she’s doesn’t deserve such treatment from these rascals.
“Imagine the nonsensical boy beside her even laughing. Them suppose mend that boy. But she could at least fight back and don’t allow them treat her like a coward!!”
@abisola_neneh said, “Haa!! My body is peppering me! Because laslas they’ll say they’re underage. Secondary school wasn’t this bad during our time. I’m so scared for my kids. The more reason i want them to learn kung fu abi na karate, look at this now”

Another user, @Lefter_11, advised that the victims’ parents should report the incident to the police.

“Her parents should involve police and also report those children to school authorities. Some of us that went to public schools will not care to let our parents know that someone bullied or beat us , we go just arrange some friends and treat them in the language they understand,” he said
@Oloriofoloris said, “Need everybody who laid hands on her/watched her being bullied be expelled and seriously punished. If you found away to blame the victim in anyway, I just want to tell you that you’re very silly.”
The school has yet to respond officially to the incident as of the time of filling this report.
Meanwhile, a check on the school showed it is rated as one of the most expensive in Nigeria with an annual school fee of N1.5 million according to Legit News.
It was established in September 2007 and currently has two annexes in Abuja and two branches in Ibadan, Oyo State and Osogbo, Osun State.
