LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the collection of 6,708,451 Permanent Voter Card (PVC) out of the 7,637,402 registered voters in Lagos State.
INEC’s Head of Voter Education and Publicity in Lagos State, Mrs. Adenike Tadese, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), stated that the figure of the total amount of cards collected, represents 87.8 percent.
According to Tadese, 928,951 cards, which were not collected as of the deadline, represents over 12 percent as NAN reports that the deadline of the collection of the PVC for the upcoming general election, has elapsed.
However, INEC retains the date for the Presidential, National Assembly Elections and the Governorship as well as the State House Assembly Elections for 25 February and 11 March respectively.
