The Kardashian’s matriarch, Kris Jenner has confirmed that Tristan Thompson‘s mother, Andrea Thompson, died of a heart attack on Thursday, 5 January, 2023.
“I am so heartbroken by the sudden passing of Tristan’s mom, Andrea. My thoughts, prayers and all of my love are with Tristan, Amari, Dishawn and Daniel,” Jenner, 67, wrote via Instagram on Friday, 6 January, alongside a carousel of images of Andrea with the Kardashian-Jenner clan over the years.
“You were the most amazing, dedicated, devoted, and selfless mom and such a loving, kind, and fabulous grandmother. What a blessing you were to your family!!! I will miss you Andrea. I will miss your bright spirit and amazing light.
“Thank you for always praying for us and lifting us up and encouraging us along the way. Rest in peace beautiful angel 🙏❤️ @realtristan13.”
Andrea was at home in Toronto, Canada, on Thursday when she suffered a heart attack, according to a report published by TMZ on Friday.
She was rushed to a local hospital for treatment, but doctors were unable to revive her.
Khloé Kardashian is showing her support for ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson during this difficult time.
The “Kardashians” personality and the NBA star flew together on Thursday from Los Angeles to Thompson’s hometown of Toronto hours after his mother, Andrea Thompson, died of a heart attack.
A representative for Kardashian confirmed their reunion to The Times and said the TV star joined her ex-boyfriend to support him during his loss.
TMZ also spotted the former couple, who share two young children, descending a private jet in Toronto.
Just last year, Kardashian and Thompson welcomed their second child together — a baby boy — via surrogate in August.
They began dating in 2016 and welcomed their daughter, True, in April 2018.
Tristan has been open about his close relationship with his mother, who encouraged him to go pro after playing college basketball at the University of Texas at Austin.
“He knew it was time, but he was a little bit nervous, so I told him, ‘No, it is time,’” Andrea told reporters in 2011 after her son was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers. “I told him, ‘No, it is time. You are ready. You must show the whole world that you are ready.’”
Tristan shares daughter True, 4, and a son, 5 months, with Kardashian, son Theo, 13 months, with Maralee Nichols and son Prince, 6, with Jordan Craig.
