IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Former Nigerian Senator, Shehu Sani, has accused the federal government of Nigeria, of keeping mute over the death of Labour Party’s Woman Leader in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Mrs. Victoria Chintex.
Senator Sani also accused the State government and both federal and state legislators of being silent over her death.
Mrs. Chintex was shot to death in the presence of her husband at their residence in Kaura, by gunmen suspected to be assassins on Monday night, 29 November, 2022.
In a statement released in November, Chief Spokesperson of the Labour Party PCC, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, described the leading female politicianās murder and the gun shot wound inflicted on her husband by the gunmen, as painful and unfortunate.
He said the Partyās Presidential Campaign condemns the killing in its totality especially in the light of the fact that the deceased was known for her active role in politics noting that her murder may infer that it was politically motivated.
Taking to Twitter on Friday, 30 December, exactly one month after her gruesome murder, Sani said, “Thirty days after the assassination of Victoria Chintex in the presence of her husband, no statement from the Federal & Kaduna state. No statement from the Federal & state legislators from Kaduna. No statement from all the security agencies.”
The politician’s post has sparked reactions from Nigerians on Twitter as some accused the party’s presidential candidate and representatives of failing her.
A tweep, @salihinbawa said: “Her representatives in both the state and the federal legislatures failed her. They see no reason to raise her case on the floors as any matter of national importance.”
@slimussy tweeted: “No statement from the presidential candidate of your party! Let’s not put blame on only them, your candidate know how the government works, let him be our front man please š§¢”
@ru4us6 replied @slimussy: “He did multiple times, go and verify.”
“Sir, you may wish to represent the federal, Kaduna state governments and all the security agencies and write to her family,” @kabirmasali reacted to @ShehuSani’s tweet.
@Chinaogbo2020 said: “I’m surprised that out the height hypocrisy of both the KDSG and the FG, they’ve all maintained sealed lips.
“Everyone now condemns the unfortunate death of Mrs Raheem because she’s a lawyer. They don’t really care.
“Mrs Victoria Chintex was just murdered and everyone is ok.”
