ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr David Umahi on Sunday spoke on his Appeal Court judgement reversal, and his victory.
The Chairman of the South East Governors Forum, described the Appeal Court judgement reversal as an answered prayer from God’s altar.
According to him, he ran to the altar of God in prayers, after his sack by Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.
The Governor stated this while addressing stakeholders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), during a Thanksgiving service that took place at the new Government House Chapel, Centenary City, Abakaliki.
Recall that Umahi and his deputy, Eric Kelechi Igwe were sacked by Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court for defecting to the APC.
Umahi said: “I ran to the altar in prayers after the first judgement and God answered my petition with a counter judgement which gave the victory.
“When the lower court asked us to leave, we came here and prayed to God but now that higher court has ruled that we should stay, are we not supposed to come and thank Him.”
Also, Umahi read a riot act to suspected thugs, criminals, as the 2023 general election approaches.
The Governor, therefore, tasked all suspected miscreants and criminal elements to immediately vacate the South-East region, saying that the zone would soon become uninhabitable for them. “Enough is enough,” Umahi declared.
