IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Mixed reactions have trailed the tribute Big Brother Naija reality show host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, paid to ex-housemate, Patrick Fakoya known better as Rico Swavey.
The media personality who has been the reality TV show host for six years, took to Twitter on Thursday to pay tribute to Rico Swavey who died on Thursday morning, following a ghastly accident.
His fellow ex-housemate Tobi Bakre had shared the sad news of his passing on his Instagram page.
This came hours after Tobi started the campaign to raise money for his treatment as he was on life support.
Ebuka, Rico Swavey’s colleagues and fellow Nigerians have since flooded social media to mourn his shocking demise.
The TV Host shared photos of himself and the deceased from the show alongside a tweet: “The actual warmest human being. This is truly heartbreaking… Rest in Peace Rico 🙏🏾 🕊”
A tweep, Spysforex threw a jab at Ebuka and asked him if he showed late Swavey love when he was alive.
“No be to de post “heartbreaking and RIP oo You show him love when he dey alive?” he wrote.
Another tweep, @MarwahMayor agree with Spysforex and wrote: “On point!!!!!”
Spysforex continued: “I no dey like some kind things,today his pictures go suffer and no be say they been get am for their gallery before na his profile all of them de save from today😥 Fake love.”
@MissSombe mourned the late singer’s sudden demise and wrote: “😭😭😭😭😭😭 you never really know how much we love these people just by watching them on our screens. I feel like I just lost a relative. Rip Rico😭😭😭”
Another Twitter user, @light_chioma wrote: “Awww this brought hot tears running down my cheeks. like even from afar you could feel the calmness and peace he was all about. mhen this hurts so much for someone I’m not close to not to talk about close pals and family. God we begged for a second chance but still you’re Supreme”
