IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Big Brother Naija Season 3 ex-housemate, Rico Swavey has been confirmed dead, voiceofnaija.ng can report.
His fellow ex-housemate Tobi Bakre, shared the sad news of his passing on his Instagram page on Thursday, 13 October, 2022.
This came hours after Tobi started the campaign to raise funds for his treatment as he was on life support.
Few days ago, the reality star and singer was involved in a ghastly auto crash.
Alex Unusual had shared the sad news on her Twitter page on Tuesday.
According to her, the accident occurred “hours ago”. She also explained that the doctors were trying to resuscitate Rico Swavey as at the time she left the hospital.
Alex further asked fans to put Rico Swavey in their prayers, as he was in a critical position.
She also said that she was staying positive concerning the sad occurrence, as she also shared a screenshot of the tweet on her Instagram story.
Alex, however, did not state where the accident occurred or how it happened.
On Thursday morning via his Instagram page, Tobi Bakre revealed Swavey had passed in an hospital where he was receing treatment.
Rico Swavey’s colleagues have since flooded social media to mourn his shocking demise.
Alex Unusual who had earlier broken the news Rico Swavey accident took to her Twitter account to mourn her colleague.
“This was not what we agreed Rico. Rest In Peace #ricoswavey,” Alex Unusual wrote.
Tobi Bakare wrote: “We lost him. But thanks a lot guys. God knows best.”
A netizen, manuel.odj said: “As soon as I saw he was on life support in a Nigerian hospital I felt this was how it would end. Might not be the hospital’s fault but that’s how much I never trust the health system in that country.”
@iam_omojay also wrote: “Rest in peace Rico, seeing you lying like that reminded me of my son. I was filled with fear and prayed so hard. You guys are now angels. Rest in peace.”
