ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, on Friday hosted Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, (LP) in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
After the meeting, Governor Wike of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), shared photographs of his meeting with the presidential candidate of the Labour Party via his verified Twitter handle.
Meanwhile, Obi’s visit was coming barely 48 hours after the official kick-off of the 2023 election campaigns.
The closed-door meeting, which is not the first, is coming amid the internal crisis of the PDP, lasted for a few hours at the Governor’s private residence in Port Harcourt.
Sharing the pictures of the meeting on his Twitter handle on Friday, Wike wrote: “It was nice hosting my brother @PeterObi once again.”
Although details and outcome of the meeting were not known, the meeting was coming amid allegations and counter allegations of bribery within the PDP fold.
Recall that Obi, the former Anambra State Governor, had on 22 June, 2022, visited Wike in Port Harcourt.
Earlier in the week, also, Obi visited former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
It was the second time the Labour Party candidate will visit Obasanjo in his Abeokuta residence.
Obi in a similar vein, on Tuesday also, visited the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi in his palace in Ile-Ife.
And on Thursday, he visited ex-Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan.
Obi visited the monarch alongside his running mate, Datti Baba Ahmed.
