ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Principal of Government Girls Junior Secondary School, Rumuokwuta, in the Obio Akpor Local Government Area of the state, has been suspended.
The principle was suspended over alleged extortion of money from students.
The suspension is with immediate effect.
According to a statement issued by the Commissioner for Education, Professor Chinedu Mmom, the suspension is a result of the principal’s “unsatisfactory response to the query issued her on the alleged extortion of money from students”.
Mmom directed her (the principal) to “hand over to the Vice Principal (Administration) to act as the Principal until further directive.”
The school principal was last week invited by the commissioner over allegations of extortion.
