LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) has revealed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has about 800 Nigerians arrested and detained for various offences, particularly Consular issues since October 2022. NiDCOM, in a warning to Nigerians traveling to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stated that the Saudi authorities have intensified their crackdown on unauthorized immigrants without proper documentation. LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – A woman identified as Mama Dada has allegedly set herself ablaze in Abeokuta, Ogun State, over her inability to pay back a N70,000 loan incurred from a microfinance bank. The incident took place in her rented apartment at Oke-Keesi, Itoko area of Abeokuta where she reportedly got burnt beyond recognition. LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has re-arraigned four men, before a High Court in Ikeja, Lagos for alleged purchase and possession of forged US dollar notes. The defendants, Mark Obisean, Olumide Mcintouch, Bolaji Bakare and Goodluck Bazunu, pleaded not guilty to an amended 11-count charge bordering on purchasing forged bank notes and conspiracy to purchase forged bank notes. LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The Kwara State Fire Service, has saved a building of 15 shops from fire outbreak in Ilorin, Kwara State. The incident took place on 15 February, at the Old NYSC Secretariat along Tanke Road, Ilorin, shortly before midnight . LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – A Mozambican Pastor has reportedly lost his life after attempting to fast for 40 days like Jesus was said to have done after his baptism. Francisco Barajah, who founded the Santa Trindade Evangelical Church in Manica, Mozambique, was confirmed dead on 15 February. BBC reports that the Mozambican man of God could observe only 25 days out of the forty he had planned for, as he was unable to stand, bathe, or walk at the time. LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – No fewer than nine hoodlums have been apprehended by the Delta State Police Command, following the recent crisis over naira scarcity. Several youths took to the streets to protest on 15 February, in opposition to the scarcity of new naira notes.
