LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The Kwara State Fire Service, has saved a building of 15 shops from fire outbreak in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The incident took place on 15 February, at the Old NYSC Secretariat along Tanke Road, Ilorin, shortly before midnight .

In an interview, the spokesman of the state fire service, Hassan Adekunle said, “one Mr Muhammad Abdullahi, quickly summoned the Brigade to the scene of occurrence at about 22:49hrs (10:49pm) yesterday night.”

It was gathered that firefighters were able to put out the fire on time.

Hassan revealed that out of the 15 shops in the building, only two were affected by the fire, which was caused by a power surge.

The Director, Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade Olumuyiwa, urged the general public to report cases of fire outbreak swiftly, in order to avoid delay in response and action by the State fire service.
