Five passengers have lost their lives and five others sustained injuries in a fatal accident involving L300 commercial bus and Leyland truck. The accident occurred at Odumudu Junction by Nteje-Awka Expressway in Anambra State. The accident which occurred around 7.30 am on Friday involved 10 victims – three males and seven females. The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has blamed the collapse of the national grid reported earlier on Thursday – which threw the whole country into darkness – on a fire outbreak. The fire outbreak occurred on the Kainji/Jebba 330kV transmission line 2, Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State capital.
