IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Abiodun Oyebanji has been sworn in as the Governor of Ekiti, to succeed the outgone Kayode Fayemi.
Oyebanji was sworn in by the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, amidst applause from the crowd present.
He assumed office with his Deputy, Chief Monisade Afuye, at the sprawling Ekiti Parapo Pavillon, Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
The man called BAO took over from Fayemi was also the chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum.
During the oath-taking process, Oyebanji pledged to preserve, protect and defend as well as preserve the office as governor in the presence of mammoth Ekiti people.
