ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Chairman of All Progressives Congress in Kano Abdullahi Abbas, has announced the endorsement of the suspension of Ganduje ward leaders, over alleged connivance with the opposition party to suspend the National Chairman of the party Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
This is following their alleged connivance with the opposition party to suspend Ganduje.
He said the Party leaders in Dawakin Tofa local government council, where the National Chairman comes from had taken drastic measures against the ward leaders who had earlier suspended Ganduje from the party.
Abbas in an interview with Journalists in Kano on Monday noted that the State Working Committee of the party deemed it necessary to adopt the suspension of the ward leaders for working in tandem with the opposition to suspend Ganduje from the party.
In a counter reaction, the party leaders at the local government level thwarted the suspension, describing it as null and void.

Dawanau said the leadership of the Dawakin Tofa local government Chapter of the party’ had sanctioned the ward leaders of Ganduje ward for six months for engaging in anti-party activities and hobnobbing with the opposition party in the state.
The State Chairman of the Party further confirmed the adoption of the suspension of Ganduje ward leaders and setting a committee to investigate their anti-party activities.
“We have evidence of meetings between the State Government officials and those that suspended the National Chairman, and state working committee has agreed to sanction them for six months and they stand for now suspended”, Abbas said.

Voiceofnaija.ng reports that in a press conference earlier, the legal adviser of the ward, Haladu Gwanjo, accused the former governor of gross misconduct and misappropriation of public funds during his administration in Kano.
Gwanjo explained that they decided to suspend Ganduje from the party due to the bribery allegations leveled against him by Kano state government, and that the suspension started April 15.
According to him, leaders at the ward level resolved to suspend Ganduje after a vote of no confidence passed on him, following his inability to clear his name from a wide range of allegations of corruption, particularly the widely celebrated dollar video.
