ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The stage is set for the screening of 16 aspirants vying for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket in the upcoming gubernatorial primary election in Ondo State on April 20, 2024.
The screening is scheduled to commence at 11 am at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, following the inauguration of the Senator Joshua Lidani-led seven-member Ondo Governorship Screening Committee and the five-man Screening Appeal Committee by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.
Chaired by the former Deputy Governor of Gombe State, the screening committee also includes former House of Representatives member, Bimbo Daramola, serving as the Secretary, alongside members Pastor Jones Erue, High Chief Second Bakor, Magaret Duru, Prof. Chukwudi Ledirick, and Hon. Abdul Rahim Balogun.

Simultaneously, the five-man Screening Appeal Committee, chaired by Senator Oseni Yakubu with Hon. Abubakar Nuhu Danburam as Secretary, will be inaugurated.
Other members include Emmanuel Ekeh, Pious Idele, and Ibrahim Magaji Dosara.
In a statement issued on the official X account of the APC, the APC officially notified all Ondo gubernatorial aspirants about the new screening date, emphasising the importance of punctuality.
The 16 aspirants who bought the nomination forms included Governor Lucky Ayiedatiwa; business mogul and senator representing Ondo South district, Jimoh Ibrahim; notable APC chieftain, Olusola Oke; former President of Nigerian Medical Association, Prof. Francis Faduyile; mechanical engineer, Dr Funmi Waheed-Adekojo and APC National Vice Chairman (South West), Isaac Kekemeke.
Others are Akinfolarin Samuel, Olusoji Ehinlanwo, Okunjimi Odimayo, Adewale Akinterinwa, Olugbenga Edema and Gen. Ohunyeye Olamide, Morayo Lebi, Garvey Oladiran Iyanjan and Ifeoluwa Oyedele.
