LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The former Lagos State Deputy Governor and Senator representing Lagos West district in the National Assembly, Idiat Adebule has distributed 10,000 food packs to her constituents at the Police College in Ikeja, Lagos State.
This initiative comes amidst widespread economic hardship, with Senator Adebule aiming to provide immediate relief to residents grappling with the escalating cost of living.
Expressing her commitment to aiding her constituents in need, Senator Adebule emphasised the significance of community support in navigating the current cost of living crisis.
She underscored the global nature of economic challenges while urging Nigerians to rally behind President Bola Tinubu’s administration, citing its policies as instrumental in fostering sustainable economic growth and national stability.

“As we grapple with the fallout of the ongoing economic reforms, we must acknowledge that the cost of living crisis is a global phenomenon and not peculiar to Nigeria,” stated Senator Adebule.
“However, the sacrifices being made today will help us to build a more resilient economy and assure us of a better tomorrow,” she said.
Senator Adebule highlighted her ongoing efforts to provide relief to constituents, noting previous distributions of food items to mitigate the impact of fuel subsidy removal.
Additionally, she announced support for 200 young individuals to undergo fisheries training at the Institute of Oceanography and Marine Research in Lagos, with each participant receiving starter capital of N100,000.
The food packs distributed included essential staples such as rice, beans, semolina, groundnut oil, garri, pasta, and tomato paste.
Senator Adebule ensured equitable distribution across the 10 Local Government Areas in the Lagos West district, delegating representatives from each area to collect the provisions on behalf of their communities to prevent overcrowding and maintain orderliness during the distribution process.
