LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The community of Isale Koko, Ojagboro, Ilorin, Kwara State has been thrown into a state of mourning following the tragic demise of Usman Abubakar, who passed away after engaging in a physical altercation with his neighbour, Omotosho Jimoh.
The incident, which occurred on March 20, 2024, has left the community in shock.
According to a resident of Isale Koko and the father of the deceased, Adebayo Ahmed, the altercation started around 7:30 pm when Abubakar and Jimoh clashed over a minor issue.
The confrontation quickly escalated into a physical fight, resulting in Abubakar collapsing during the altercation.
In a statement issued by the spokesperson for the Kwara State Police Command, DSP Ejire Adeyemin it was revealed that Abubakar was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival by medical personnel.

“Despite efforts to persuade the family to allow an autopsy, they insisted on performing the burial according to Islamic rites.
“The suspect, Jimoh, is currently at large, prompting the Kwara State Police Command to launch a preliminary investigation into the matter.
“Efforts are underway to apprehend the suspect and uncover the full circumstances surrounding this unfortunate incident that has left a family grieving and a community in mourning, DSP Ejire said.
