In 2013, Akpa Emeka, a former Administrative Officer at the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) and Social Worker, was kidnapped while on one of his many trips in the Southeastern part of Nigeria.
After his release, he began to nurse kidney disease and other health issues resulting from his experience in the kidnappers’ den.
Although the ordeal led to the loss of valuables and had lasting effects on his physical and mental health, it didn’t deter him from continuing his charity work.
However, in June 2023, he experienced a crisis that led to the amputation of his right limb and kidney failure.

Emeka, who is married with four children, is currently undergoing dialysis twice a week and is in need of a kidney transplant to prevent a further breakdown of his health.
Currently receiving care at the Federal Medical Center in Abuja, Emeka is seeking a kidney donor and financial support totaling at least N30 million.
With a family to support, he has exhausted all his resources to cover the high medical expenses.
Emeka’s family and loved ones are seeking assistance from compassionate individuals to help him undergo the necessary medical procedures both in Nigeria or outside the country.
For those touched by Emeka’s story and wishing to lend a helping hand, now is the time to step up and make a difference in his life.
