ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Yahaya Bello, the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, has commenced efforts to replace Umar Ganduje, the current national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Campaign posters signaling his interest in the position emerged on the streets of Abuja on Monday.
This is coming shortly after Bello handed over power to the newly elected Kogi Governor, Usman Ododo.

In August 2023, the National Executive Council of the APC confirmed Abdullahi Ganduje, the former Kano State Governor, as the national chairman during a meeting at Transcorp Hilton in Abuja, succeeding former Nasarawa Governor Abdullahi Adamu.
Despite not completing a full year of the four-year tenure, it remains unclear if the APC plans to conduct another election for party positions.
Peoples Gazette report that as of the time of this report, Kingsley Fanwo, the former commissioner for information under Bello’s administration, has not responded to calls and messages, regarding this development.
