ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Mr. Kanayo Uzuegbu, the Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, has issued a resolute warning that unrepentant criminals in the state will face severe consequences in the coming year.

The announcement came as part of the New Year and Thank You Message released by the commissioner through the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, on Tuesday in Enugu.

In his message, Commissioner Uzuegbu urged criminals to seize the opportunity of the New Year and the gift of life from God to reconsider their actions and turn away from criminal behavior.

Expressing gratitude, the commissioner acknowledged the support of the Enugu State government, led by Governor Peter Mbah, security stakeholders, and law-abiding citizens in the fight against crime throughout 2023.

He extended his thanks and wished everyone a more peaceful and prosperous New Year in 2024.

Assuring residents, Commissioner Uzuegbu pledged that the police command would build on the successes achieved in policing the state.
