LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) Nicolas Jackson’s hat-trick leads Chelsea to a 4-1 victory over Tottenham, who were reduced to nine men after red cards for Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie in a tumultuous match on Mauricio Pochettino’s return to his former club.
In this chaotic contest, Nicolas Jackson secured his first Premier League hat-trick, with his first goal coming in the 75th minute when he capitalized on a counter-attack.
He then added two more goals in injury time to seal the win. Jackson celebrated his third goal with Cristiano Ronaldo’s iconic move in front of the traveling Chelsea supporters.
Tottenham exhibited heroic defensive efforts during much of the second half but were ultimately undone by a lack of discipline and an excessively high defensive line.
This defeat led Spurs to relinquish their top spot in the table to Manchester City, while Chelsea climbed to the 10th position.
Next Saturday, Tottenham will face Wolves on the road, while Chelsea will host Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.
