Proceed with caution, and be aware of any potential risks or data loss during the process. Ensure you have backups of your data before beginning.

System Requirements:

Before you start, make sure your PC meets the necessary requirements:

  1. A PC or laptop with at least 2GB of RAM (4GB or more recommended).
  2. A dual-core or quad-core processor (64-bit is preferable).
  3. A minimum of 10GB of free storage space.
  4. A USB mouse and keyboard.
  5. A stable internet connection for downloading necessary files.

Step 1: Choose an Android Version

Decide which version of Android you want to install on your PC. You can choose between various Android-x86 versions, including versions based on Android 9, 10, 11 or even newer ones.

Visit the official Android-x86 website to download the preferred version: Android-x86 Downloads

Step 2: Create a Bootable USB Drive

To install Android on your PC, you will need to create a bootable USB drive. You can use software like Rufus to accomplish this:

  1. Download Rufus from their official website.
  2. Insert a USB drive with at least 8GB of storage into your PC.
  3. Run Rufus and select the USB drive.
  4. In the “Boot selection” section, choose “Disk or ISO image (please select)” and locate the Android-x86 ISO file you downloaded in Step 1.
  5. Click “Start” to create the bootable USB drive.

Step 3: Boot from the USB Drive

Now, you need to boot your PC from the USB drive:

  1. Restart your computer and access the BIOS settings (usually by pressing a key like F2 or Delete during startup).
  2. In the BIOS settings, navigate to the “Boot” or “Boot Sequence” section and set the USB drive as the first boot device.
  3. Save your changes and exit the BIOS.

Step 4: Install Android on Your PC

Follow these steps to install Android:

  1. Your PC should now boot from the USB drive, presenting you with the Android-x86 installation menu.
  2. Select the “Install” option.
  3. Choose the partition where you want to install Android (you can create a new partition or use an existing one).
  4. Format the partition with the ext4 file system.
  5. Install the GRUB bootloader.
  6. Choose “Yes” to make the system partition read-write.

Step 5: Start Android on Your PC

Once the installation is complete, your PC will restart, and you’ll be prompted to boot into Android:

  1. Select “Android-x86” from the boot menu.
  2. Follow the setup process to configure your Android OS.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully installed Android OS on your PC. You can now explore the world of Android apps, games, and functionality on your computer.

Installing Android on your PC can be a great way to experience the Android ecosystem in a different environment.

Whether you’re a developer looking to test apps or simply want to enjoy Android on a larger screen, following these steps will help you get started.
