LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) Neymar is reportedly planning his departure from Al-Hilal with the intention of returning to Santos in preparation for the 2026 World Cup.
The 31-year-old forward embarked on a new challenge in Saudi Arabia in August.
Although initial reports suggested a four-year contract, it appears to be closer to a two-year agreement, indicating Neymar’s intention to leave Al-Hilal relatively soon.
According to Brazilian journalist Ademir Quintino, Neymar will return to Santos in 2025.

Quintino shared on his social media channels, “During conversations with friends of Neymar Senior and Neymar Junior, I received the information that they did not sign a four-year contract with the Saudis but rather a two-year contract so he can return (to Santos) a year before the World Cup.
“Neymar approached Santos and asked to return. I have friends in common with Neymar, whom I will not name, but he has a very strong desire to return to Santos.”
Neymar, now Brazil’s all-time leading scorer, has made just three appearances for Al-Hilal and is still awaiting his first goal for the club.
His desire to return to Santos has been clear, with the plan seemingly aiming for the switch to happen one year before the 2026 World Cup finals in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
