LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) Inter’s Simone Inzaghi shared his perspective on the upcoming transfer of Romelu Lukaku to Roma, following Inter’s 2-0 victory over Cagliari.
Lukaku’s Transfer Path The Belgian forward, currently with Chelsea, is on the brink of returning to Italy, with Jose Mourinho eager to secure him on a loan deal for Roma.
Lukaku’s transfer journey has been a lengthy one, marked by twists and turns. Initially, he reportedly declined the opportunity to make his loan at Inter permanent, and he explored the possibility of a move to Juventus.
Eventually, he focused on Roma as his destination, expressing that negotiations with Juventus took too long.
Inzaghi’s Remarks When questioned about Lukaku’s impending move to Roma, Inzaghi commented during an interview with DAZN, stating, “Roma has made an excellent signing in Lukaku.

“Beyond that, I am highly content with my players and the values they contribute to the Inter family.”
Lukaku’s Transition Lukaku will need to accept a significant reduction in wages to finalize his transfer to Roma.
His current earnings, reportedly around £325,000 per week, exceed what Roma can fully accommodate.
Mourinho, having worked with Lukaku during their time at Manchester United, eagerly anticipates reuniting with the striker and is “patiently awaiting” Roma’s reinforcement of their attack prior to the conclusion of the summer transfer window.
Lukaku’s departure from Stamford Bridge appears imminent after a less successful second stint with Chelsea.
The striker has agreed to a lower salary in order to join Roma, with the Italian club set to pay Chelsea a £5 million loan fee for his services.
