LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer has made a return to training after a span of nine months, during which he suffered a broken leg due to a skiing mishap.
The German goalkeeper had been sidelined since the beginning of the year after fracturing his leg while skiing in December, following Germany’s exit from the World Cup in Qatar.
His initial plan was to make a comeback at the start of the 2023-24 season, but his recovery was hampered by a subsequent setback.
To bolster their squad depth, Bayern acquired Daniel Perertz from Maccabi Tel Aviv, while Sven Ulreich will continue as the preferred goalkeeper until Neuer attains full match fitness.

During Monday’s morning training session, which involved players who didn’t feature in Sunday’s match against FC Augsburg, the 37-year-old captain participated in a session with fellow goalkeepers.
This marks his first training session since suffering a lower right leg fracture in December 2022. Neuer’s progress on the path to recovery has now advanced to the next stage.”
After securing victories in their first two Bundesliga matches of the season, Bayern aims to continue their winning streak against Borussia Monchengladbach on September 2nd.
