LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Romelu Lukaku has drawn criticism for his actions from Inter Milan vice-president Javier Zanetti as he allegedly continues to seek a trade to Juventus.
The relationship between Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku and Inter Milan, where he spent last season on loan, is said to have broken down earlier this summer when the Belgian international indicated interest in a move to Juventus, despite the Nerazzurri’s aspirations of signing him permanently.
The 30-year-old attacker, who earlier stated that he adored the club and that they had the “best fans in the world,” has come under fire from famous former Inter midfielder Zanetti for how he has acted
The Inter chief told La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Given what Inter has done for him, we expected him to behave differently, as a professional and as a man. He has the right to go where he wants, of course, but he could have told us that beforehand.
“Nobody is bigger than the club and when building a team, you always have to consider who you are bringing into the dressing room.”
Lukaku will probably depart Stamford Bridge this summer, but it’s unclear what will happen to him next.

The former Manchester United forward may have damaged his image with the Serie A team since he reportedly stopped returning phone calls from the club. His contract with Chelsea expires in 2027.
His actions have angered Inter and Bianconeri supporters. At the same time, he started discussions with Juventus about a prospective transfer.
Lukaku and Chelsea made an earlier summer agreement that he would not join the first-team squad, and by withholding his squad number, the club has all but cemented his departure.
While Inter’s season gets underway against Monza on Saturday, August 12, the Blues’ campaign gets underway against Liverpool on Sunday, August 13.
