LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) Bayern Munich legend Paul Breitner has strongly criticized Neymar, sarcastically expressing gratitude to Al-Hilal for acquiring the Brazilian star and taking him to Saudi Arabia.

Neymar is the most recent addition to the group of prominent players heading to the Saudi Pro League, where he will compete alongside figures like Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Breitner did not hold back in his condemnation of Neymar, remarking that he “only dives” and contributes little else.

In an interview with Bayrischer Rundfunk, the former Bayern Munich and Real Madrid player stated, “Thank you, dear Saudis, for purchasing Mr. Neymar, who has been among the craftiest footballers on this planet in recent years.

Neymar has faced challenges in fulfilling his significant potential, especially since departing from Barcelona.

During his time with PSG, he was unable to guide the team to victory in the Champions League, and he has yet to secure the Ballon d’Or award.

This week, Al-Hilal is scheduled to face Al-Raed, and Neymar might potentially make his debut for the club after completing his €90 million (£77.2 million/$98.3 million) transfer.
