LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Caleb Farley, the cornerback for the Tennessee Titans, is in mourning after his father’s tragic passing.
The 61-year-old Robert Farley lost his life in an explosion that occurred on Tuesday, 22 August, at Caleb’s $3 million residence in Mooresville, North Carolina.
Robert Farley was discovered dead amid the wreckage of the home, which was entirely destroyed in the blast.
Mooresville, situated 30 miles north of Charlotte, was the location of this unfortunate incident. Caleb, who is in his third season with the Titans, was not present at the time of the explosion.
One individual, identified as family friend Christian Rogers, sustained injuries in the explosion. Rogers suffered a concussion and was taken to Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center.
Responders reported observing the 25-year-old exiting the severely damaged residence upon their arrival.
On Instagram, Caleb Farley paid tribute to his father in a series of videos. He expressed his sentiment with the words, “Daddy, you’re a legend. I love you.”
The tribute concluded with an image of his father enjoying a game of golf in front of a serene waterfall.
The cause of the blast, which completely demolished the 6,391-square-foot house, has not yet been determined. Authorities are investigating the possibility of natural gas involvement.
The community united in remembering Robert Farley during a gathering on Tuesday evening, where a group prayer was held.
An unidentified individual addressed the assembled crowd, emphasizing that while he may be gone, Robert Farley will forever be remembered.
Robert Farley’s passing arrives five years after the death of his wife, Robin, who lost her battle with breast cancer at the age of 53 in 2018. He leaves behind two sons, Caleb and Joshua.
Caleb Farley has taken part in 12 games with the Titans, having been selected by the team in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
