LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – There has allegedly been no updated advice on Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s attempts to acquire Manchester United.
Fears have been raised that the United takeover process has been suspended since Ratcliffe’s INEOS company and Sheikh Jassim’s Nine Two Foundation have not received any more information from the Glazers on their offers.
A source from one of the bidders reportedly stated in an article in the I Paper that they had “not been given any guidance at all on what comes next” and that “there’s just been no communication whatsoever of late.”
Following the May deadline, Sheikh Jassim’s Nine Two Foundation submitted a final proposal, which was estimated to be worth £6 billion ($7.6 billion).

Even yet, it wasn’t enough for the Glazers and the Raine Group, who are in charge of organizing the transaction, to agree.
The I Paper further reported that the Glazers are rumored to be dissatisfied with the size of the offers from INEOS or the Nine Two Foundation and to believe that the club’s value is poised to increase as a result of upcoming television rights deals and the exploding popularity of football in the United States and elsewhere.
The most expensive contract in Premier League history was been signed between United and apparel manufacturer adidas for a 10-year agreement.
This week, Rasmus Hojlund’s signing with the Red Devils is expected to be announced. They then compete in their fifth and final preseason game at Old Trafford versus Lens.
