A yet-to-be-identified female fan has reported Cardi B with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department after the award-winning rapper threw her microphone at her during a mid-performance.
The Police in a statement made available to CNN on Monday said: “According to the victim, she was attending an event on July 29, 2023, at a property located in the 3500 block of Las Vegas Boulevard. During a concert, she was struck by an item that was thrown from the stage.”
Cardi B is now a suspect in a battery investigation after a viral video showed the moment she threw a microphone at a concert-goer who tossed a drink at her during a gig in Las Vegas on Saturday.
According to Daily Mail, the 30-year-old hitmaker was seen hurling the microphone from the stage after getting splashed by a drink thrown by a fan during a gig at Drai’s Beachclub on Saturday, 29 July, 2023.
A clip showing a new angle of the incident – captioned, “When you fuck around & find out” – showed the fan who threw the drink saying “I’m sorry, I’m sorry’ after Cardi hurled the microphone.

The woman who was hit by the mic went to Las Vegas Metro PD the next day to report the incident.
She told police she had been struck by the microphone thrown from the stage, but it is not confirmed if the woman told police she had thrown liquid at the musician first.
In another video shared to social media from the concert, Cardi B and her DJ are seen asking the crowd to “splash” her with water due to the heat. It’s unclear if this occurred before or after the incident with the microphone.
CNN has reached out to the Clark County District Attorney’s office for comment and have reached out to the LVMPD public records department for a copy of the police report.
The incident in Las Vegas on Saturday is just the latest in a slew of similar scenes at concerts where artists have become the target of objects thrown at them while on stage, with some artists suffering injuries as a result.
