LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-Luis Suarez claimed that he and Lionel Messi wish to retire together after the Uruguayan star’s aborted deal to Inter Miami.
Messi, a seven-time winner of the Ballon d’Or, joined Inter Miami shortly after, and his former teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba followed suit.
Suarez was a former Barcelona treble champion that the Herons sought to sign.
The transfer won’t happen right away because Miami and the Uruguayan’s current club, Gremio, stopped negotiations, but the two still want to play together again.
“With Messi we dream of retiring together,” he said on Uruguayan TV show Punto Penal.
He added: “It was something that we always planned when we were at Barcelona. And from one year to the next I went to Atletico and he went to PSG.

“We dreamed of it and we talked about it that after Barcelona we would go to the United States and nothing happened at the time.
“Now he made the decision to go there and from what you can see, he looks happy and we hope that at some point that possibility will occur.”
Suarez’s ongoing physical issues make it seem doubtful that he would play for very long.
As a result, they may not be able to retire together as planned. Fans, though, may stand a strong chance of seeing the four triple champions reunite for one more matchup.
Suarez’s Gremio and Messi’s Inter Miami are already in the middle of their seasons, while the Brazilian team gears up to resume their Brasileiro Serie A campaign.
The Herons are waiting to find out who they will play in the Leagues Cup round of 32.
