ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested eight suspects in connection with an alleged diversion of N4 billion from the Kano Agricultural Supply Company, (KASCO).
The Chairman of the Commission, Muhuyi Magaji Rimini Rimini Gado, revealed this during a visit to the company’s warehouse facility.
According to Gado, the funds were originally intended for an association named “Association of Compassionate Friends,” registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, with the purpose of improving the living standards of underprivileged children in society.
Regrettably, the association appears to have misused the funds for personal gains, leading to the arrests.
Further investigation into the matter is underway, as the Commission aims to uncover the details of the scheme.

The alleged funds were drawn from the state government as a grant to KASCO, making it a matter of great concern.
The Anti-graft boss also mentioned that the Commission is examining certain transactions between companies and banks, expressing the possibility of inviting bank managers to address any discrepancies.
However, in a positive development, the Commission has managed to recover N15 million so far and has also blocked approximately N8 million to prevent further misuse of public funds.
Gado urged the people of the state, especially civil servants, to come forward with any relevant information that could aid in recovering looted government properties.
He reassured them of their safety and emphasized that the case would be taken to the appropriate court.
